2019 will be another milestone in the history of volleyball and the Mikasa brand. The era of the Mikasa V200W, the new FIVB Official Game Ball, begins.
After passing the rigorous FIVB homologation tests conducted by national teams and elite clubs, the V200W will debut in the FIVB World Cup, scheduled for September 14, 2019 in Japan.
The V200W features a perfectly balanced, 18-panel aerodynamic design that improves ball movement and gives players greater control. With enhanced visibility, the new indoor ball will optimise the quality of play and maximise excitement on the court.
The double-dimpled microfiber surface stabilises the flight path of the ball and creates additional cushioned ball control, whilst the anti-sweat functionality “Nano Balloon Silica” prevents the surface of the ball from becoming slippery during intense play.

Following the announcement, FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F said:Mikasa has supplied equipment for the FIVB since volleyball was first included on the Olympic Programme at Tokyo’s first Olympic Games in 1964, and the V200W will be the new FIVB official game ball. “Mikasa shares the FIVB’s vision for sporting innovation and I believe that our ongoing relationship will go from strength to strength as we move forward together.”
Mikasa President Yuji Saeki said: “Our partnership with the FIVB has formed a fundamental relationship for our organisation for many years, and I am delighted to launch the V200W, which will be seen and used around the world. “It is my hope that the FIVB and Mikasa will share many more future moments like this.”

The presentation of the V200W was preceded by the announcement of the extension of the partnership between Mikasa and the FIVB.
The four-year renewal will expire in 2024 when the Paris Olympic Games will be held where Mikasa will once again be the official ball for volleyball and beach volleyball tournaments.
